Metamorphosis is when an animal changes its form over a course of life. Frogs, cicadas and butterflies all began there life in a different form. A butterfly's life cycle has many stages the first stage is the egg stage number two is the caterpillar the third one is the pupa stage and the last stage is the butterfly stage.

First the female butterfly lays  hundreds of eggs  at the bottom of a leaf. The egg is as big as a sesame seed. It only hatches when there is a warm weather. After a few days the caterpillar is ready to come out it chews a hole in its egg. When the caterpillar comes out of its egg the first thing it does is it eats its egg.

A caterpillar is 2 millimeters long when it hatches. The only things it does is, eat all day and it sheds it’s skin every seven days so it can grow. They love milkweed leaves and  butterfly plants. Once it is big enough it stops eating. The caterpillar grows a hundred times it’s original size.
                       Pupa stage(Holometabolism/chrysalis)
It sheds it’s skin for the last time. They form into a pupa on a plant or twig they also need warm weather to form into a pupa. The pupa is made from silk. A caterpillar forms a protected cover. The pupa remains motionless. It takes 1 and a half weeks to form into a butterfly. The caterpillar forms very slowly. A pupa can be soft, hard, webbed or see through. It also changes colour into green, brown black white. It goes through a series of changes. It takes several minutes to wriggle free.

After fifteen days a butterfly emerges out .Its wings are small and wet.The butterfly pumps fluid into its wings to make them strong so they expand. After a few hours the wings are strong enough to fly with. They need to dry so the butterfly can fly.

It is essential that the female butterfly lays it’s eggs so the life-cycle can continue and not go to an end. If it went to an end butterflies would be extinct.

This week we have been learning to write an explaination about life cycle of a butterfly.

Beach description

Angry waves crash at the surface of the smooth sand like bowling the wickets in cricket.  The tall trees in front of the cove are in order from smallest to biggest. There are hungry seagulls finding food on shore. The horizon stretches out a thin blue line that splits the sea and the sky.The dark cove is as black as a cat .There is a tall cliff with some grass. The beautiful sea shells shine on the beach shore.

Salty water fills my nose with oudur.  Rotting shell fish create a pungent stench which takes over the lovely smell of grass and nauture.A dealious smell of chips draws the seagulls in and my mounth waters. The beautiful smell of sea shells filled my nose.

An gentle breeze hits a tree and makes some leavs gently come out while they float in thin air and silently lands on the sweeting sand.Waves rush up to the sand and the hot sand fights the waves away and retreats the waves shyly go bach to there under water home.

There is nothing better then spending time at the beach with my family and friends.I love playing in the sand with my sister. We make sand castles and play on the playground. We play games like cheat with our friends.

This week we we wrote descriptions and in my description I used different sentence starters.

Fair trade poster

This term we are learning about fair trade and how it has helped farmers. So we made posters to convince consumers to by fair trade products. Some people made letters to ask countdown why there isn't fair trade sugar in countdown. I think fair trade is a good organisation that has helped many farmers have a better life style.

The Three Little Pigs

The Three Little Pigs

Once upon a time before the dinosaurs were alive there were three brave little pigs. They were going to leave their parents that day. So they said bye to their friends and family. They set off to build their own houses. The first piggy saw a man with lots of straw so he asked if he could borrow some straw from him “Can I please borrow some straw?”Image result for the three little pigs

The man said “Yes, sure you can. I can’t see why not.” So the little piggy took a bit of straw and set of to build a straw house. It took him hours to build his straw house but when he had finished he had built a fine straw house. When he had set off to build. His older brother had also gone on his way. He saw another man and the second piggy asked him if he could borrow some wood. Again he said the same thing yes.

So he brought his wood to a place where he could build. He started building and building and building. It also took him hours to build. When he had finished he had built a fine wooden  house that looked amazing. When the second pig had started, the third pig also met a man and he was carrying bricks. The kind piggy asked the wise man if he could buy some bricks. Again the man said “yes off course, why not”.

So the third pig also set off to work.  He found a nice place to build so he started building. He wasn't disturbed by anything. It was night when he finished. That night they went to sleep. before long the the big bad wolf came along that night and knocked on the door off the youngest pig that build the straw house.

The little piggy looked through his little window there he saw the big bad wolf standing there he said “let me in.”
The pig said “not by the hair of my chinny chin chin”.
The wolf became so angry. So he said, “I will blow your house down. 1, 2, 3, blow”
So he blew his house down and the piggy ran to his older brothers house. The big bad wolf followed  him all the way. Suddenly he lost the little piggy.

The the piggy found his brothers house and quickly ran and knocked on the door. His brother woke up and answered the door he said, “who is it?
The piggy said, “it’s me, your little brother”.
He said, “come in.” He asked,  “why are you here in the middle of the night?”
He replied “the big bad wolf blew my house and lost me on the way”.
The second  piggy  said “you can stay with me forever.”
And the three little pigs lived happily ever after.

This week we wrote fairy tales and changed the ending. I changed my ending by the wolf only blowing the 1st pigs house and the first pig go's to the second pigs house and stays there forever.
